Who are you?

You are a payroll professional with deep experience in multi-client payroll processing and PEO operations. You're tired of working somewhere where your attention to detail and process improvements go unnoticed. You want to be part of a fast-growing team where you can lead implementation processes, take ownership of your client book, and help build systems that scale. You thrive on accuracy, love solving complex payroll puzzles, and get satisfaction from ensuring clients' first payrolls are flawless.

Who are we?

We are a fast-growing PEO headquartered in South Carolina. You can check us out at guhroo.co (not .com). We're a PEO that delivers comprehensive payroll, benefits, compliance, and HR solutions tailored especially for small and growing businesses. We combine technology and dedicated HR experts to streamline back-office work so our clients can focus on growth.

What's the role?

This is a senior specialist role on our Client Success team, reporting to the Director of Client Success. You'll be responsible for processing payroll for your assigned book of ASO and PEO clients, leading implementation processes for new clients onto our Pro Software platform, and serving as a subject matter expert for complex payroll scenarios. You'll work closely with the Director to ensure every payroll runs perfectly and every new client has a smooth onboarding experience.

Responsibilities include:

  • Processing and managing payroll for assigned ASO and PEO clients to ensure timely and accurate completion.
  • Leading implementation processes for new PEO/ASO clients onto Pro Software, serving as primary point of contact during onboarding.
  • Reviewing and quality-checking all payrolls before submission to Director for final approval.
  • Serving as escalation point for tier-1 team members on routine payroll questions.
  • Ensuring timely completion of each new client's first payroll through proactive coordination.
  • Managing ACH approvals, corrections, and ad hoc check requests for your client book.
  • Researching and resolving payroll discrepancies, variances, and system issues.
  • Logging and tracking payroll errors to support continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Maintaining process documentation and creating Knowledge Base articles for common scenarios.
  • Assisting with coordinating HR, tax, benefits, and licensing during client onboarding.
  • Identifying opportunities to optimize and automate implementation and payroll processes.
  • Gathering and organizing client-facing documents during onboarding.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 3+ years of payroll processing experience (multi-client environment required)
  • 3+ years of PEO industry experience
  • Proficient in Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Chat, Meet, Forms, Sign, Drive)
  • Analytical and process-oriented mindset
  • Service-first mentality with strong client communication skills
  • Experience with payroll implementation and client onboarding
  • Detail-oriented with ability to identify trends and drive improvements

  • Do you offer training? Yes! But we are looking for an experienced payroll professional who has worked in PEO or multi-client environments. We will train you on how we do things and our systems, but you must have existing payroll and PEO knowledge.

  • Is the salary flexible? We're offering $55,000-$65,000/year for this fully remote position. We're open to candidates anywhere in the US and understand this range represents excellent compensation in many markets. Starting salary within the range is based on your experience level with PEO implementation and multi-client payroll processing.
  • Do you pay bonuses? Yes, you will have up to 8% of your salary available in potential incentive bonuses.
  • Do you offer benefits? Yes, we pay 80% of employee-only healthcare, match 100% of the first 4% of your 401k, and have dental, life, and vision insurance available. We also offer unlimited PTO and a trip anywhere in the world at five years.
